Here's something that should significantly brighten up your otherwise damp and cold Thursday evening (damn you, February!) – former White Stripes frontman Jack White has been in the studio with Welsh crooner Tom Jones, of 'Sex Bomb' fame, and knocked up a cover of Howlin Wolf's 'Evil'.

Although the collaboration isn't quite as baffling as White's teaming with the Insane Clown Posse, it still ranks high up there on the list of musical partnerships I really never expected to be reporting on.

Jones lays his gravelly warbles over jazz trumpets as the badass-o-metre almost – almost – rivals blues legend Howlin Wolf's original.

The track will be released through White's record label Third Man Records as part of their 'Blue Series' on March 19th. Along with the aforementioned Insane Clown Posse track 'Leck Mich Im Arsch' (which translates to 'lick me in the arse', in case you were wondering), the Blue Series has also featured US satirist Stephen Colbert's duet with The Black Belles 'Charlene II'.

Listen to Tom Jones' cover of 'Evil' below.
