The return of Lollapalooza Chile and the launch of Lollapalooza Brazil will undoubtedly be the talk of the music world this week, with the two music festival events set to take place back-to-back weekends in the Spring of 2012.
The Chilean run is set for March 31st – April 1st at O’Higgins Park in Santiago, Chile, while the Brazilian version of the festival takes place April 7th-8th at Jockey Club de São Paulo, Brazil.
The official lineup for Lollapalooza Chile was revealed on Sunday, with Foo Fighters, Björk, and Arctic Monkeys leading a bill that also includes TV on the Radio, † (Crosses), MGMT, Peaches, Thievery Corporation and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, among others.
Lollapalooza Brazil will host the return of Jane's Addiction and a special blend of iconic indie rockers from every region of the country, including Plebe Rude from Brasília, Wander Wildner from Porto Alegre and Cascadura from Salvador.
"The people of Sao Paulo have been very active–twittering me whom they want to see in the 2012 Lolla lineup," Lolla co-founder Perry Farrell, who received the Bill Graham Award at Billboard's Touring Conference earlier this month — said in a statement. "Judging by all the requests, they are going to erupt. We really delivered for them. Now, I want them to show me how you party in Brasil!"
