The never-ending erotic-bohemia circus that is Jane’s Addiction took care of the entertainment section of yesterday’s Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco, with a 42-minute set that spanned and sampled the band's entire catalogue. The musical portion of the private event was made available as a free stream. If you missed it, never fear: Google’s posted the entire set, captured via multiple cameras. Check it out below:
Earlier this year Jane’s Addiction announced that Dave Sitek – who has done production work with TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Foals – is writing, programming and playing bass on the band’s new album. Interestingly, he didn't play last night, replaced by semi-regular touring bassist Chris Chaney.
Jane’s fourth studio album, The Great Escape Artist, is set for release in August on Capitol Records. The Great Escape Artist’s first single, End To The Lies, can be purchased now through iTunes and listened to here.
