We literally just got done telling all you folks about the woman who was kicked off a plane for showing too much cleavage, and now this story also involves boobs and an airport.
Gayathiri Bose, a nursing mother who was traveling to Paris from Frankfurt, was stopped by airport security after they became suspicious of her breast pump. Bose was not traveling with her baby, so an insane female officer forced Bose to open her shirt and squeeze her boob in order to prove that she was lactating. Holy hell, Germany, take it easy.
The 33-year-old Singaporean mom explains that she put her breasts pump in her carry-on bag, only for the bag to be taken aside after going through the X-Ray machine. That is why security started to question Bose. “[They had] an incredulous tone,” Bose tells BBC. “‘You are breastfeeding? Then where is your baby? Your baby is in Singapore?.'”

Bose also says that security took her passport and then escorted her to a room where a female police officer asked her to demonstrate that she was lactating.
Here is what Bose had to say:
She asked me to open up my blouse and show her my breast. She then asked how come I didn’t have anything attached to my breast, if I was lactating and expressing breastmilk. And I said, there is no such thing that is [permanently] attached, we usually place the pump to our nipple and the machine does the job. She wanted me to show her by hand-expressing a little.
Someone really, really needs to teach that female officer the basics. Bose adds:
I was just in shock, I was going through the motions. I was all by myself as well, and wasn’t sure what would happen to me if they decided to make trouble for me. It was only when I came out of the room that I began to slowly understand what had just happened. I just started to cry, I was terribly upset.
Oh, and this is the pump in question.
Bose of course has considered suing. And of course Frankfurt police has denied all of this, saying that while they did stop Bose, they did not make her squeeze her boobs: “We deny the allegation that the passenger was asked to prove her ability to breastfeed.”
Let’s just say that it is pretty obvious not the smartest folks work at that airport.
