So Johnny Depp Once Paid $3 Million To Shoot Writer Hunter S. Thompson’s Ashes From A Cannon

Well that's one way to spend your cash.

Why, Johnny, Why? Oh, that’s right, because you’re rich.

Even though Johnny Depp has had his share of box office duds, including the most recent Alice in Wonderland films, the dude is super rich obviously. And when you are as rich as he is, you can go ahead and spend it on whatever the hell you want — even on the chance to shoot some ashes out of a cannon. That’s right.

It’s only been one day after Depp sued his business managers claiming they had grossly mismanaged his funds, but his former managers, of The Management Group, filed a countersuit citing the actor’s wild spending habits. I mean, if I was making millions I feel like I would rather know what I’m spending it on instead of place it all onto a bunch of suit-and-ties. But hey, it’s Johnny we’re talking about here.

According to his former managers, Edward Scissorhands himself spends about $2 million a month, including spending $75 million on 14 homes. There is more:  Depp also flushed $4 million on a failed record label.

The countersuit also states that Depp spent $3 million just to shoot Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon because apparently that was one of Thompson’s dying wishes. Well, at least he went out in style.

Here are more of what Depp does with his cash: He spends $300,000 a month maintaining a staff of 40, $150,000 a month on security, and oh, $30,000 a month on wine. Well, I guess wine is Depp’s go-to when the rum is gone.
