Born on October 5, 1983 in New York City, Nicholai Olivia Hilton “Nicky” is probably best known as Paris Hilton’s sister, and the great-granddaughter of hotel magnate, Conrad Hilton.
Nicky grew up in a life of privilege and moved between Los Angeles and New York, living at one point in a suite in the Waldorf-Astoria. Nicky said, “When I was a kid I had this funny blonde hair and everyone called me ‘Chick’ because I looked like Tweety Bird.”
According to askmen.com, her one and only job she ever had was as an intern at Hamptons magazine when she was 12. “I walked around with a pad and was like, ‘What do you guys want for lunch?’ to all the people who worked there.”
Nicky told stylebistro.com that she knew when she grew up that she wanted to work in fashion. Growing up with Paris, Nicky said, “When we were young, my mom bought us everything matching. So we dressed the same until about 12, when we told our mother, ‘No more! We’re buying our own stuff.”
As a teen, she modeled for designer Anand Jon and designed handbags for Samantha Thavasa. She also appeared with her sister, Paris, on the March 2002 edition of FHM.
Nicky Hilton graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart in 2001 and later attended Parsons School of Design. She now works as a designer where more than 100 stores in Japan carry her handbags. She said, “My fashion philosophy is that if I like, I wear it. I’m not a snob about which looks are ‘this season’ and which are ‘last season.’”
Nicky was offered a role on 2003’s “The Simple Life,” but she turned it down because she didn’t want to “live the simple life.”
She was married briefly in 2004 to her childhood friend Todd Meister in a Las Vegas ceremony, but the marriage was annulled shortly after Nicky turned 21. She has been romantically linked with Brian McFayden, David Katzenberg and Kevin Connolly, among others.
In 2006, Nicky Hilton was at work opening and designing her own line of hotels called Nicky O, in Miami and Chicago.
In 2013, she put her Hollywood Hills home up for sale. She said, “I’m following my dreams and doing what I love as a designer. I did not want to be one of those kids with a famous last name that doesn’t do anything. That is very unfulfilling to me and I’m very happy.”
Nicky Hilton lives in Los Angeles.
