Nasim Pedrad is a comedian probably best known for her appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” where she was a cast member for five seasons from 2009 to 2014. She busted out impressions of Kim Kardashian and Bruno Mars, among many others. She will soon be seen in the Fox sitcom “Mulaney.” She is notably not active on social media.
Nasim Pedrad was born in Iran in 1981 and she and her family lived there until 1984 when they emigrated to the United States. It should be no surprise that she can speak both English and Farsi.

She grew up in Irvine, California and later attended UCLA. She honed her comedy chops at The Groundlings and performed in her one-woman show Me, Myself & Iran. Nasim Pedrad has appeared in a variety of other projects, including “Gilmore Girls”, “ER” and a voice role in “The Lorax.”
While on “SNL,” she would often use her time off to perform at colleges across the country. Her favorite impressions were Arianna Huffington because “it’s really cool to talk about politics on [Weekend] Update through the lens of a smart, sassy woman.”
Growing up, Nasim Pedrad looked up to Tina Fey as a writer. “She is someone whose career I really admire.” As for writing on the show, she said, “We don’t really know what we are going to write about until that week and most of the time I rely on the host for inspiration. When I know who is hosting, I will think about what I want to do with that person.”
She left “SNL” in 2014 in order to co-star in the comedy series “Mulaney.” Nasim Pedrad is currently single and splits her time between New York City and Los Angeles.
