MyAnna Buring is a Swedish-born actress based out of England. She is known best for her appearances in films such as "The Descent" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 & 2," along with series like "Downton Abbey."
MyAnna Margaretha Buring Rantapää was a bit of a child without a country growing up. After being born in Sweden, she soon moved with her family to the Middle East after her orthopedic surgeon father took a job in Kuwait. It was while living there that she began attending the American British Academy in Oman, eventually graduating on to Bristol University.
A student of drama there, she moved on to attending drama school at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, as well, graduating in 2004. Her hard work in school proved to be very fortunate, as it paved the way to landing the role that put her on the map in the horror film "The Descent" in 2005.
While her role as Sam in the claustrophobic genre film pigeonholed MyAnna as a horror actress for a time, this wasn't at all a bad thing for an up-and-coming actress, as it was still leading to a steady stream of jobs in films such as "The Omen" (2006), "Vampire Killers," and "Kill List," the latter of which even further showcasing her skill for roles with a little more baggage to them. The same year as her "Kill List" roles, she was even signed on to play vampire Tanya in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 & 2."
From here, MyAnna's roles finally began to expand outside the genre of horror, winning recurring roles on such famous television series as "Downton Abbey," Ripper Street," and "Banished." Furthermore proving her demand as a skilled actress, while written out of "Downton Abbey" after just one appearance in the series 2012 Christmas special, she was brought back in 2013 for a series of episodes. She has remained incredibly busy ever since.
