Gemma Merna is an English actress and glamour model. She is most famous for her role as Carmel McQueen/Valentine on the popular British soap opera "Hollyoaks."
Gemma Ann Merna was born on October 11, 1984 in Manchester, England, but grew up in Worsley. She attended St. George's RC High School before graduating and moving on to a career in both acting and glamour modeling. Known best for her role as Carmel McQueen/Valentine of the Channel 4 soap opera "Hollyoaks," she began playing the character all the way back in 2006.
While "Hollyoaks" may be the reason Gemma is famous in her native England, it's certainly far from all the beautiful blonde does for a career. In fact, aside from being an actor on that series, she's never actually starred in anything else playing a character other than herself. But that that also doesn't mean she's done nothing else in television, either. As the years have gone by and she has become more famous for her soap opera status, she's gone from simply attending "The British Soap Awards" on a yearly basis to starring on reality shows like 2014's "Splash!"
Let's be honest, though, anyone unfamiliar with Gemma's work on television will be able to figure out that she must also have a strong career in modeling, as no one looks as good as she does without doing so. Sure enough, she has graced the pages of every popular men's magazine from FHM and Zoo, and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
On a more personal level, Gemma married businessman Ian Minton on May 27, 2012. She also remains close personal friends with her fellow "Hollyoaks" co-stars Nicole Barber-Lane, Jennifer Metcalfe, and Jorgie Porter, all of whom served as bridesmaids at her wedding, as well.
