Born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Afro-Cuban immigrants Don and Carmen, Christine Flores aka Christina Milian changed her name in an effort to land a wider range of roles.
Christina is the oldest of three sisters.
By the time she was nine years old, she had shot commercials for Wendy's and Honeycomb and played the lead in "Annie." Milian's mother moved (along with her three daughters) to Los Angeles when Christina was 13. Christina's parents divorced soon after.
At 17, Christina Milian began writing her own songs. By 19, she signed a contract with Def Jam. She is a light-lyric soprano. She has released albums, including "Christina Milian," "So Amazin'" and "Us Against the World." She was also the opening act for "N Sync's" stadium tour, as well as Kanye West and Usher. Christina also sang the chorus on Ja Rule's No. 1 single "Between Me and You."
Christina Milian landed a role in the film "Love Don't Cost a Thing." Other roles followed, including parts in "Be Cool," "Pulse," "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," and "Bring It On: Fight to the Finish," among others. In 2008, Christina Milian played the part of Carmen Mendez in the Electronic Arts video game "Need for Speed: Undercover."
