Cara Delevingne is a world famous supermodel. Known for her various magazine covers, runway, and tabloid appearances, Delevingne is by far one of the more intriguing and exciting women in the fashion industry today.
Cara Delevingne has been dubbed the next Kate Moss by the fashion world. Born in London, England into a well-connected, blue-blooded family, Cara has lived a life of luxury long before her modeling career developed. Delevingne’s grandfather, Sir Jocelyn Stevens, was chairman of English Heritage and a London newspaper executive. Her grandmother was lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret and her mother was a debutante and socialite of the eighties. Poppy Delevingne, Cara’s older sister, is also an established model, having represented fashion powerhouses Burberry, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton.
Following in her sister’s footsteps, Delevingne first began modeling at the young age of ten, where she appeared in a story for Italian Vogue. As a child she also appeared in an advertisement for Cadbury chocolates.
Young Cara expressed various other interests. She learned to play the drums and was in a band. In an interview with W Magazine she said, “I wanted to be either a musician or an actress… I wanted to be a Disney Channel star!”
Delevingne received private schooling for the entirety of her educational career. She first attended the Frances Holland School for Girls and later the boarding school Bedales. At Bedales she continued to express interest in acting; she made an audition tape for Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Despite having met Mr. Burton, she did not get the job, but the experience had “lit a fire” in her.
Like Moss, Cara Delevingne was ‘discovered’ by Sarah Doukas, the CEO of Storm Model Management. She signed with the firm in 2009 at 17 and gained significant prominence after becoming the face of Burberry in 2012. Cara was also given a small role in the film Anna Karenina, opposite Kiera Knightley. Since then, she has modeled for Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi, Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, and many others.

She is currently flatmates with Georgia May Jagger, daughter to Mick Jagger. Fame has also introduced Cara to new friends, including singers Rihanna and Rita Ora. Regularly found at clubs and tattoo parlors with her entourage, she has developed a bad girl reputation. Despite this, she is moreover known for her easy-going, energetic and quirky persona.
