Her nickname is Aurora Joon, and she is a beautiful blend of African-American and Caucasian ancestry. “Lots of European mixed in there and some Creole, that’s where the French last name comes from.”
When asked what was the hardest part of growing up multi-racial, she said, “I guess…not understanding why people (other kids) were so curious, and confused about what I was…to me and my friends and parents I was just a person, not a color. I learned to appreciate my differences and understand that most of the time their curiosity wasn’t coming from a mean place,” (swirlgirlarmy.com).
Her other roles include parts in “Pretty Little Liars” and “A House is Not a Home," though we are sure that list will grow. Aurora Perrineau was inspired to become an actress by her father. “I would watch his work and get chills and really feel something for his character and it made me want to bring that out of people.”
She described herself in five words as “mellow, kind-hearted, curious, courageous, full of light.” The best advice she ever received, she said, was “don’t quit.” Her goals in life are “to be happy.”
Aurora Perrineau is currently single and when not traveling for work, she resides in New York.
