Artists for Peace and Justice – Olivia Wilde
Emphasizing its advocacy role in socially conscious gaming, STiKS Gaming announced Tuesday, a partnership with the non-profit Artists for Peace and Justice, to launch at the IT Lounge during the annual Toronto International Film Festival, September 6-9. Along with its gaming suite, the Lounge will also include an exclusive portrait studio featuring one of the world’s most acclaimed fashion and beauty photographers, Patrick Demarchelier.
Having previously hosted such celebrities as Ryan Gosling, AnnaLynne McCord, Olivia Wilde and Catherine Deneuve, this year’s lounge will welcome celebrity attendees to “Battle to Build” as they take part in the latest STiKS Gaming campaign to aid the building of much needed facilities for the children of Haiti. Stars can play each other and campaign donors in some of the most popular video games over Xbox 360 Live and the PlaystationNetwork. All donations will benefit Artists for Peace and Justice, whose latest work serves children and their families in the poorest communities of Haiti by supporting programs in education, health and dignity. Starting today, fans can go to STIKSGAMING.COM to sign up.
“We are proud to partner with Artists for Peace and Justice at the 2012 TIFF IT Lounge. We couldn't be more excited to bring the film and gaming communities together in support of APJ and their significant work in Haiti,” said STiKS Gaming Partner Michael Wasserman.
“Artists for Peace and Justice was launched during this Festival four years ago to help the children of the slums of Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Two years later, the devastating earthquake robbed the people of what little they had,” shares APJ Founder and Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis. “Since then we have made great strides, but the need is still immense. We really appreciate everything STiKS Gaming is doing to help us bring higher education and hope to the children of Haiti, who all deserve an equal chance at success.”
