T.G.I.M.! #166

Taking a look at this week's sports TV schedule.

The NFL has made it's triumphant return and no one could be happier than he who is typing this. Don't get me wrong, summer sports are okay, and thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates' success, along with the Olympics, this summer has been even more memorable than ever; but it's just not the same as the pure happiness that watching the NFL brings. While real games aren't in the cards yet, pre-season is still interesting enough to watch. And for those of you who fret over not getting to see your team, the NFL Network replays every preseason game, so just look at your local listings to see when your team's game is getting replayed.

Also, like last week, I list no Olympic coverage on this schedule due to it not really being hard to find it on the TV at about any time of the day.

(MLB) NY Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers 7 pm ESPN

(MLB) NY Yankees at Detroit 7:05 pm MLB Network

(POKER) 2012 World Series of Poker 8 pm ESPN

(SOCCER) Real Madrid vs. AC Milan 8 pm ESPN2

(GOLF) PGA Championship Aug 9th-12th CBS/TNT

(NFL) Monday Night Football (preseason) Green Bay packers vs San Diego Chargers 8 pm ESPN-The Packers are one of the favorites to win the NFC, if not the SuperBowl, but they really need to shore up that defense first. San Diego, on the other hand, is a fringe playoff team that should play with a heavy dose of determination this season as their window of opportunity is closing fast and the core of their team only gets older.

(LLBB) Little League World Series 7 pm ESPN

(TENNIS) 2012 Rogers Cup 7 pm ESPN2

(NFL) NY Jets at Cincinnati 7:30 pm NFL Network- The Tebow/Sanchez experiment begins in earnest here as the Jets take the field for their first playoff game. It'll be interesting to see if Tebow can deliver in games better than he has on the the practice field. If he can, this will be a huge step in him getting more reps come September.

(BOXING) Darley Perez vs. Bahodir Mamadjonov 10 pm ESPN2
