Showcase’s “XIII.2” In Production

Second season of conspiracy thriller stars Stuart Townsend.

Townsend is back to head up one of the Showcase Network's biggest new conspiracy thrillers "XIII.2."

In this exciting announcement of season 2, the rogue CIA agent XIII fights the forces of corporate and governmental darkness to maintain his individuality, and is pulled into a world of intrigue and deception as he is caught up in a sinister terrorist plot: a secret weapons project that has the potential to destabilize the planet, all while the United States government collapses into a bloody coup d’etat. The program is based on the graphic novel of the same name by author Jean Van Hamme.

They will be shooting in Toronto this summer. The show also stars Aisha Tyler ("Black Water Transit," "Archer"), Virginie Ledoyen ("Army of Crime," "Shall We Kiss?"), Greg Bryk ("Lost Girl," "Saw V," "Cra$h & Burn"), and Ted Atherton ("Degrassi: The Next Generation," "Haven"). Academy Award-winner Roger Avary of "Pulp Fiction" has joined the group of executive producers for season two of the show.

As an official press release pointed out, "Joining the second season cast is French actress Roxane Mesquida, who burst onto the international film scene in Catherine Breillat’s controversial features "Fat Girl," "Sex is a Comedy" and "The Last Mistress." The actress also starred in the "Sheitan" directed by Kim Chapiron starring Vincent Cassel (Toronto International Film Festival, Melbourne and TriBeCa Film Festival) and "Kaboom" directed by Gregg Araki. She featured in season five of "Gossip Girl", and has appeared on in the pages of Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair.

Season one of the new thriller "XIII" begins on Wednesday, April 20th at 10pm on the Showcase network.
