Ottawa will finally be hosting its first ComicCon event – for two days the CE Centre will be bursting at the seams with comic book, sci-fi, and fantasy exhibitions.

Pop culture lovers will finally have the chance to immerse themselves in every aspect of the inclusive ComicCon world, and to meet and take photos with some of their favourite film stars. Leading the charge is Sir Patrick Stewart, the legendary Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the starship Enterprise from "Star Trek: The Next Generation," along with Professor Charles Xavier from the blockbuster "X-Men" movies, as well as a distinguished British film, television and stage actor. Actor Lou Ferrigno, best known as "The Incredible Hulk," is now in an altogether different battle as he holds the fort against his scheming competitors in Donald Trump’s "Celebrity Apprentice." John de Lancie, recognized in his recurring role as Q on the various "Star Trek" series and as Allen Shapiro in "Torchwood: Miracle Day," has also been featured in cult favourite "Breaking Bad." Actor Jeremy Bulloch portrayed "Star Wars’" bounty hunter Boba Fett – arguably the coolest character in the saga – throughout the middle trilogy, and actor Vic Mignona has voiced roles in several Japanese anime series and has received acclaim as Edward Elric in the popular series "Fullmetal Alchemist." And attendees will not want to miss Elvira, Mistress of the Dark herself, as actress Cassandra Peterson joins the fun.

Finally, no ComicCon would be complete without costumes and contests, and this one is no exception. Members of the Capital City Garrison will be appearing as film-authentic Star Wars characters and raising money for charity.

Tickets for Ottawa ComicCon are now on sale. The event takes place at the CE Centre May 12 and 13. Visit www.ottawacomiccon.com for more info and to buy tickets.
