The CBC is known for their slews of locally-grown shows, from dramas to reality TV and everything in-between. Having recently announced their upcoming schedule for the season, these are the top CBC shows this winter.
Arctic Air
Taking off on January 10th as one of the most anticipated programs on the network, "Arctic Air" is a drama starring Adam Beach as a Canadian from the far north who returns to Yellowknife to help run a family-owned prop-airline business. Look for it Tuesday nights at 9pm.
Republic of Doyle
Notorious for their countless high-calibre guest stars, one of their biggest, Russell Crowe, will help this popular series get the third season started on a high note when "Republic of Doyle" returns to the CBC on January 11th at 9pm.
Every station needs a good comedy, and the CBC is banking on funnyman Gerry Dee to delight audiences with his new show "MR. D" about a fumbling gym teacher trying to find his way around his new teaching gig at a private school.
Redemption Inc.
With the undeniable success of "Dragons' Den" comes another original CBC reality show, "Redemption Inc," which follows 10 ex-convicts as they are given the opportunity to start a business under the guidance of Dragon and multi-millionaire businessman Kevin O’Leary. Not only could they get his support but $100,000 is also at stake.
Other mainstay favourites that are making a comeback on the CBC this winter include:

– "Marketplace," the number-one consumer show in the country. It won a 2011 Gemini Award for Best News Information Series. It starts up again January 6th at 8pm.
– "Dragons' Den," now entering its sixth season. Watch as dragons Jim Treliving, Bruce Croxon, Arlene Dickinson, Robert Herjavec, and Kevin O’Leary look for the next big Canadian business idea.
– "The Nature of Things," with David Suzuki. Believe it or not this show is going into its incredible 51st season in 2012. Watch as green giant Suzuki combs the globe and presents viewers with thought-provoking issues and ideas.
– "22 Minutes," one of Canada's favourite political satire and sketch comedy shows. Mark Critch, Geri Hall, Shaun Majumder, and Cathy Jones make much-awaited returns to the small screen. It premiers on January 10th at 8:30pm.
