First Look | Zazie Beetz as Domino in ‘Deadpool 2’

The star of 'Atlanta' and 'Geostorm' has turned Deadpool's costume into a carpet. Like you do.

Deadpool 2 is officially in the middle of production – we talked to director David Leitch last week and he told us all about it – and we’ve already seen a cute little trailer for the irreverent superhero sequel, but we still don’t know a heck of a lot about it yet. We know Deadpool is in it, we know Cable is in it, and as of today we know that Deadpool’s costume makes a reasonably comfy carpet, blanket or throw.

Earlier today, Ryan Reynolds revealed (via Twitter) our first look at Zazie Beetz as Domino, a mutant with the power to change her own luck. The character has been directly connected to Cable in the Marvel comics, which is pretty fitting since – again – Cable is in Deadpool 2… too, played by Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men).

Zazie Beetz is a relative newcomer to Hollywood. Her on-screen acting career only goes back about four years but she broke out in a big way last year with roles on the Netflix Original Series Easy and the award-winning FX comedy Atlanta. She’s also got a role in the upcoming disaster thriller Geostorm, so her career has a heck of a lot of momentum right now, and you might want to keep an eye on her trajectory.

Check out the higher-resolution photo of Domino above. She’s astride Deadpool’s costume, in a shot that evokes the original “Deadpool on a Bear Skin Rug” promo shot from the original, hit film, below. And mark your calendars, because Deadpool 2 is coming on June 1, 2018.
