T.G.I.M.! #164

Previewing this week's television sports schedule.

With NFL camps set to open up and the start of preseason for America's beloved sport just a week away, it's happy time for all of us football lovers.

But not to belittle the sports that are currently going on, let me take a second to remark on the amazing year that the Pittsburgh Pirates are having. As of this writing, my Bucco's are sitting at 14 games above .500 and are just a ½ game out of first place in the NL Central. That's right, Pittsburgh, who hasn't had a winning season since 1992, is on the verge of making history happen right before our eyes.

All things are possible in sports and if the Pirates can continue their winning ways, which I don't see why not (ignoring 19 seasons of futility), then what's to say that other maligned teams, like, say, the Cleveland Cavaliers, can make runs of their own this year.

That's why they play the games, folks, because you never know what the outcome is going to be; no matter how lop-sided the odds.
